How can we organise this in terms of consumption? We consume language everyday, verbal and not verbal, visual or oral, from our thinking in contact with other and the world around us. The appropriation of technology in terms as we need to turn it nationally and available for us, we tend to simplify, synthesize and informal turning something that is not external, but and extension of us. That’s why we abbreviate sentences, use more than ever foreign words as English to express universally something, express ourselves by emotion icons. This new languages is being insert easily and frequently in the habits of younger people. Why? They are more open to these forms of modern world, technology and language.
The film Babel of Alexandro Itarru had a very special meaning to me because in some way is link with the subject of my theses (mestrado). Today, we live with several and new languages. What’s the meaning of this? In XXX century Esperanto was the secret cod of hope for a group that could be the future of human kind, express in a unique language. But nation’s diversity and the advent of Babel tower result in the spread of different languages. Could this be in our days with the raising of this new language, the searching of a unique & universal language? Are we looking for it? New media, communication, fusion of languages and technology and equipments (iPod, iphone, iPad, SmartPhones…) could be a way of getting to it? New languages are a new Esperanto but more democratique and global.
